Maximizing safety for oneself and for everyone else, on any type of public road, is the primary aim of true advanced driving, but sadly the very phrase "advanced driving" is abused by many who either do not understand the comprehensive skills involved or who are simply out to make a quick profit. The desire for maximum safety on today's dangerous roads should apply whether the driver concerned is an ordinary citizen, intent on being as good as the very best drivers out there, a sales rep. or professional driver who travels a high mileage each year and therefore faces more risk by "exposure," or an emergency services driver who needs to drive a patrol car, ambulance or fire truck at speeds well in excess of the legal limit, without any risk of harming anyone as a result. The aim of Advanced Drivers of America, Inc., is to highlight the massive benefits of enhanced driving standards and, importantly, to reinforce people's enjoyment of driving. We encourage all drivers to improve their skills and safety through genuine advanced driver training. It is our objective to provide authoritative advice, definitive standards and the highest levels of driver training and assessment. The overriding goal is to maximize safety for all participating drivers, for public roads in North America. This will be achieved by following global best practice, by virtue of our own, long-term expertise in this field, and by developing strong relationships with all appropriate bodies.
