“BICYCLING DEATHS are on the rise [in the USA], a new report says, as is the average age of the victims…

“The report by the Governors Highway Safety Association… found a 12.2 percent increase in bicycling deaths in 2015 compared with the previous year, a figure that outpaced an overall 10.5 percent rise in U.S. traffic fatalities that year….”
To put this into better perspective, 2015 was the year in which annual road deaths in the USA rose back up above the catastrophic and entirely unacceptable level of 40,000.
